Held ransom for R4,000 at customs because of mess up with affordable appliances!

<p> I ordered an Elba 60cm stove from Affordable Appliances. </p> <p>I paid R4,900 which included delivery to my door. </p> <p> </p> <p>I was notified 2 days later by Allroute Logistics that my stove was stuck in customs. They said that I was required to pay R3,700 to them because the stove had been delivered with an Elba extractor. This, apparently, was what it cost to get them both cleared. </p> <p> </p> <p>I notified Affordable Appliances and they said that they would sort it out. However, they said to me "just pay the money and re-sell it". They never once apologized or tried to rectify the situation. </p> <p> </p> <p>When I asked for a refund they immediately refused, even though their website clearly states 30 days full refund. In fact, the contact man at Affordable Appliances told me to 'pay the money and stop calling the number' and put down the call. He has since put down the call each time I've tried to call and does not answer my emails. </p> <p> </p> <p>In addition, there is absolutely zero mention that these goods are being imported! And from Nairobi!!!</p> <p> </p> <p>I would have never ever ordered if I knew the stove would go through customs. </p> <p> </p> <p>Now Allroute Logistics has said I owe an EXTRA R1,400 for storage at customs AND R3,700 for the extractor. </p> <p> </p> <p>Customs has insutructed I pay the money since the storage costs will drastically increase. And since the items are under my name, I am liable for the costs. </p> <p> </p> <p>Affordable Appliances messed up the order and now have left me to pay and additional >R4,000 for something I do not want. </p> <p> </p> <p>I strongly advise to never ever use them!!! I am still reeling in shock to what they have done to me. R4,000 is a lot of money and they do not care at all for the situation that their mistakes have put me in!</p>
