Poor customer service and never paid my money back till today

On the 23rd December 2016 I hired a car (Navara) at Wozani Car Rental in South Beach Durban. The guy who was helping me, his name is Mathia. I drove from Durban heading to Ladymsith on the very same day but the car broke down right after Howick at Balgowan in a very dangerous zone. The temperature gage went up high quickly and the car switched off and it started smoking from the front. I quickly tried to reach for the red triangle of which I didn’t find in the car. Mathia gave me his cell phone number when I asked him if they do have any roadside assistance during emergency. I called Mathia several times while stocked there around 8pm. After some time a breakdown down and they tow the van because it was in an extreme dangerous zone. They charged me R2500 of which I told Mathia about the following day and I even have pictures of the car being towed.

After an hour or so Mathia gave me a call and told me he was in a very serious meeting with his boss that’s why he didn’t take my calls, I explain to him that the car breakdown and I am in a tower truck heading home because I have some very important which were in the car. After some time while we were on the road, he gave me call and ask me if it possible to tell the breakdown to leave the car at a certain garage so he can arrange for it to be picked up because it is going to be very costly to tow it from Ladysmith, and I explain to him that we are an hour away from home and I have staff which won’t fit in the tower truck.

On the 24th December 2016 he asked for direction to be sent on whatsapp about my location so he can come to fetch the car, indeed they came very late after so many hours waiting for them, he was driving an Audi A4 silver if I am not mistaken GP registration number, he told me he will take the car to mechanic so that they will fix it and I will have to come to Durban to pick it up. I told him I am not comfortable with the driving a car that broke down, infact I don’t trust it anymore, we both agreed that I am cancelling the contract on my way back to Durban after December holidays. He promised me that my money including the one I used to hire a tow truck and my quarter full diesel will be returned to me before 25th December 2016.

He said I must sms him my banking details and he facilitate it when he get back to Durban, I trusted him well and hope he will understand it December , so family must be happy and see a groceries and staff. On the 25th December 2016 I gave him a call he didn’t answer it whole day, even on the following one- he then told me on the 28th December 2016 that he gave me his car in good condition and I broke it. I didn’t understand where was all that coming from, I kept on sending him sms of which I still have but he never rep****. I told him on the sms that if things are like these, I will have no option but to escalate this to my lawyers and we will meet in court, his reply was “ok baba”. That thing alone said a lot about his professionalism when it comes to customer service. He later gave me call and said the finance lady who is doing reversal is not at work.

Yesterday I said him a mail that at least if I can get my R5 000 deposit, pay my sons school fees, pay my school fees, pay rent and buy grocery because it clear to me what his doing is a day light *******, but he never responded to my sms nor give me a call. I am so disappointed in the way Mathia treat people, I am afraid in future you will lose clients because of him. I asked him for the number of the head office, he said don’t bother no one will answer that number.

Total amount I paid to Mathia was R10950 from 23rd -29th December 2016, the car was empty and I put R700 fuel- tow truck R2500, I told him that I will expecting R14150 as my reversal but he hang up the phone to me and told he didn’t have enough airtime when I was the one who was calling him.
