DO NOT take device insurance with Telkom SA!
I took Telkom device insurance when I bought my new phone with them. I was told by the sales agent, there is a cooling-off period inwhich I have the option to cancel the policy. I contacted their insurance partner (Worldwide Advisory Services) 3 days after purchaing the device, to cancel the policy as I no longer needed their cover. I sent them my Telkon invoice, ID copy and IMEI number, so they can process the request. Only for them to tell me there is no policy on their system under my ID nor linked to the mobile phone supposeldy covered. To my suprise, at the end of the month I received a debit order for the insurance policy. When I contacted Worldwide Advisory Services to ask for a refund, they told me the same story " there is no policy linked to the device not to my ID number". I have been asking them for weeks to explain how this is all possible. How does one have an insurance policy, a contract number for said policy, and debit deductions, all for a non-existent insurance policy?
I feel like Telkom is ****ming it's customers at this point!
