Treated unfairly by contracting company

I was recruited by Workforce Worldwide or Oxyon for a one day shutdown at Sappi Lomati Barberton site,on 28 June 2020. I was told that all is fine and I will receive my remuneration the following Friday- I only received my one day wage three weeks later after i don't know how many phone calls - so I thought all was fine.

I had a back operation on the 3rd of July 2020 and whilst recovering I app**** online for my UIF benefits - only to realise that Workforce Worldwide and Oxyon has filed a declaration stating I am an active employee and it is here that my endless struggle started- I have never been so ill treated and was sent on a wild goose chase just to get them to rectify their mistake by giving a letter or UI-19 form that is completed correctly, all that was needed is that they state "END OF CONTRACT" the start date needs an end date - simple.

The labor hire consultant who arrange the one day work originally to help me because I am unemployed just stated that he cannot assist - I must contact head office. The Dept of Labour assisted me in phoning them whilst I was on another line - Oxyon HR fed my ID into their system and found no trace that I ever worked there, I was given another Head Office number in Gauteng - they would not speak to me and requested an email stating what is I wanted, this email was never rep**** to. I phoned again and this time the HR told me that I don't exist on the database and advised that I revert back to the source, and province

So back to the labor consultant - this time he asked his manager who then gave me a number of the area admin lady - when I phoned she was from Secunda and does not deal with Nelspruit and Barberton, she did help by giving me the number of a lady in Nelspruit - finally someone who wanted to help because she has some humanity - by this stage my electricity is cut off, I have no food in the house and my wife was also not receiving any income due to Covid, Further I cannot claim from any benefits like parcels or the R350 Sassa - This lady did intense tracing and research as to who was responsible for submitting this UI-19 to the labor department

Yes you guessed right - back to the labor broker and his manager - the manager Sidney Mbungele now said he will take action and came up with a brilliant idea that I must write a letter of resignation - I couldn't believe my ears - from his level - I did not resign after one day - I did a contract - ONE DAY CONTRACT - if I resign it means that I CANNOT claim my UIF which is the whole purpose for them to rectify THEIR MISTAKE, he also would not speak to my wife who has been assisting me the whole time because she is beyond him, he did say he will use her Whats App to send messages because my phone was also cut and broken by this stage - and I have no funds.

But never the less - he also requested an email with my details which he send to head office and made it clear that we must not interfere - it will take two working days and he will email us the letter and corrected UI-19 form, two weeks later Sidney played us a message from his head-office saying we will have the letter no later than that afternoon, that was Friday 4 September 2020

On Monday the story changed again - NO LETTER - and we must get back to the lady who can assist us with a letter, trying to explain to him that they do not have my record - I slightly raised my voice for the situation - running in circles and no one cares - the person who submitted the UI-19 to the Dept of Labour is a ghost, he immediately rambled that he will block me and I will not be helped getting a letter - so he feels nothing.

We are currently talking to the only kind person, the lady from before and she is going to draft a letter that we can then send to the department of labor and hopefully claim my UIF benefits and put an end to this nightmare
