Worst customer service possible
Have had the worst possible customer service with woolworths. Had purchased a nespresso machine through their online site, and upon delivery we had decided to return it as it didn't have a milk frother with. Took it to the store at crossing mall (mafikeng Mmabatho) and we were suddenly told that they can't process the return because they don't sell the same item. We were then told to go to potch (a good 2 hours away) and that's the only way to process the return. I asked the Mmabatho branch multiple times if I'd need the same card used for payment since it was paid with a debit card and I was told no, I will be able to get a cash refund there. I contacted woolworths head office and customer service multiple times and I was told they too cannot help me in any other way other than going to potch. Believe it or not - I went to the potch branch. Once j got there we spent TWO HOURS debating that the refund cannot be processed without a tax invoice which WOOLWORTHS itself did not send to me. We went through all my emails regarding the online order and the attachment wasn't there. Eventually a customer who overheard was kind enough to advise me to download the woolworths app and find the tax invoice there. Upon presenting the tax invoice the second problem popped up - the payment method on the tax invoice says 'credit card' so they can't help me unless I present the card. Bare in mind any payment done with a VISA card be it debit shows as credit on the purchase. I didn't have the card as the payment was done by my daughter who lives in secunda. Again - I asked the Mmabatho branch prior to this multiple times before going ALL THE WAY TO POTCH if I'd need the card as it was a debit payment. Alas, after all the hassle and stress, I wasn't given a cash refund and I'm still sitting with the machine at home. Their service is absolutely disgusting.
