Woolworths vs Checkers

Woolworths Retail Crossing West Rand: Lowest level of stock - open spaces galore. It looks like a business in distress, except for the new liquor section, which is visibly stocked but only had one customer when I was waiting to pay for the items I could buy. I have noticed this trend over time.

Basic items out of stock today. Not one loaf of sliced bread of any kind 🙈 and no grated cheese. These are only 2 of 7 basic items I wanted today that weren’t in stock. Large open empty spaces on most shelves in the store. Store staff all gathered around fresh produce section looking totally lost.

Lots of Easter chocolates 🐰 which are over-priced and which will be on a 50% discount on Wednesday next week, based on their predictable trend.

Managers response was dismissive and abrupt when I asked as to why there is no bread. Not an unusual response from managers at this store, which I have experienced over time😢 Needs urgent HO intervention and rescue.

Checkers Sixty 60, which I’ve been using regularly over the last 6-8 months is amazing and they deliver according to their promise. They also have out of stock items from time to time but, if you enquire about delivery issues using their helpline, their service and responses are next level, helpful and solution driven. I got what I needed at Checkers today 🙏👍😁
