Woolworths Store at Walmer Park in Gqeberha

Horrible experience today at Woolworths Store in Walmer Park Gqeberha. Went to buy an item and paid at the liquor store, the cashier noticed that the account is on my husband’s account and I have a secondary card in my possession which is the card I was using. The Cashier left me standing with no explanation, and she went to call someone else I am assuming its the Supervisor, still no explanation of what is happening, the tone used to ask if I have an ID and that the card I have was *****ulent. Furthermore, I am embarrassed by a statement “the cashier is very attentive to detail and they are doing their job checking for *****, she will never miss anything” I am still not told what is being checked. So I explain I have been using this card forever since I’ve received the secondary card, with my most recent purchase being on the 8th January 2025 in that very same store and like previous times I have never had any issues.

Today I was reduced to a shoplifter in actual fact a *****ster as the card used has a different surname as to the primary card holder. We are not aware that Woolworths SA has updated their policy on secondary card holders details need to be the same as the primary card holder. It is unfortunate I did feel a-bit racially targeted by the two WoolworthsSA employees, if ‘not’ than the customer service was really derogatory. I received the card with my ****en surname and it has always been like that, what is really degrading is that all of a sudden I am committing *****. This was really frustrating with no explanation, or communication and very embarrassing
