Woolworths - Stick To Selling Cabbages!

Be very careful if you are considering taking out a Woolworths Black credit card. It is a mismash of Absa/Visa/Woolworths and each of these organisations will attempt to 'pass the hot potato' when something goes wrong. Also be aware that it comes with an eye watering R69 pm 'service fee'. This means that the first R2,300 (!) of your monthly Woolworths purchases effectively earn you Nil Rewards whilst you cover the cost of the card. That's R6,900 of your monthly purchases if you do none of your shopping at Woolworths. I recently received a new card as my first 3 year cycle had ended. The delivery process itself was a shambles but let's stay on topic. The card didn't work. A period of deny, deny, deny followed whilst Woolworths Financial Services (How can we make a difference? Yeah, right) shunted me all over town trying to fix it. After three weeks of wasting my time I suddenly got a terse email from them admitting that their cards are faulty. Since then nothing. They must be 'looking into it'.
