Woolworths - STAY AWAY FROM ONLINE ORDERING - YOU WILL BE OUT OF POCKET

On 28 October 2025 I did an online order with Woolworths. The amount went into the pending section of my bank statement. On 1 November 2025 the same amount that is pending was debited from my account however the pending amount remained in the Transactions Pending section. I called Woolworths and was advised that this has happened to all their online customers and that the pending transactions will be removed but that their finance team (only 2 people in this team?) have to send authorisation to Capitec (Only Capitec customers effected) to remove the pending amounts. Many customers are currently out of pocket waiting for Woolworths to get their act together. I have called several times and am told it will done the following day but nothing materialises, the amount remains in the pending section of my statement. In the meanwhile I, and all the other online customers, do not have access to that money. I will never place another online order with Woolworths as I'm sure none of these other customers will. Some customers are in dire need of those funds and have advised Woolworths of such but nothing is done to alleviate these poor people of the financial burden that Woolworths have created for them. It seems that Woolworths simply doesn't care! I repeat -I will never do an online order with Woolworths. As this effected online orders countrywide Woolworths I'm sure this is going to have a serious effect on all online orders that Woolworths receive in future, or should I say don't receive in future. Just an example of a business that has become so big that they simply don't care and think they can do just as they like.
