Woolworths - Shocking Customer Service from the Store Manager

I am a daily customer of the Woolworths store located in the Blu Bird Shopping Centre in Atholl Birnam. I visited the respective store this afternoon to purchase a few items including the R70 promo on 4 vegetable packs consisting of Potatoes, Onions, Gew Squash and Sweet Patatoe. All 4 vegetable packs were located within close proximity to each other, so I took all four and placed them in the trolley. When I got to the till point I was informed by the cashier that the gem squash I picked was not part of the promo, she then requested the assistance of a supervisor namely Siya, He was inducted by the cashier to the problem, Siya informed that will get the correct gem squash on special. Siya returned about four minutes later to inform that they don't have the respective gem squash aligned to the promo, they only have the organic gem squash, which cashier confirmed as being the same price. I then enquired with Siya as to the price for the gem squash on special versus the so called örganic gem squash? Siya rep**** that it's the same price, but the manager informed that he is unable to give them to me on the promo? I was now taken aback, that both these products are the same price and Woolworths are unable to offer them to me on the promo price. Siya then informed that he is going to have the problem remedied by talking again to the store manager namely Eric Semela. Before he went to see the store manager I informed him that if need be I'll even take a similar product i.e. instead of one packet of onions, I'll take two to make up for the gem squash, or I'm happy to take the Organic gem squash that's the same price as the gem squash aligned to the special. Siya went to the respective manager Eric Semela and was told an emphatic no. If the deal does not have respective gem squash, then the customer will not qualify for the promo. This is a crying shame that Woolworths can take a decision to do this to a loyal customer that services this store daily, not to mention the inconvenience waiting 10 minutes for Siya running up and down to the so called arrogant manager namely Eric Semela that plain down refused to satisfy his customer. I therefore ask is this the training that Woolworths offer to their managers like Eric Semela, to inconvenience customers, whereas he could of offered another promo veggies or even the organic gems marked at the same price. Should a manager not be able to make a decision little decision to satisfy the customer ? I rest my case, it's managers such as Eric Semela that place Woolworths in a bad public light due to incompetence of managers such as Eric Semela to make a decision aligned to customer centricity.

I received feedback from the Woolworths Customer Service Dept. I was so taken aback when the respective customer service representative Gailyn Elie responded to inform that my complaint will be escalated to store manager, my complaint was about the attitude of the store manager Eric Semela, and this customer service rep was going to escalate to him. Did the customer service rep even read my complaint. I responded to inform that it might be a conflict of interest in the light that the basis of the complaint was about the store manager, and his attitude, and should be escalated to his line manager. What is this world coming to?, sorry meant Woolworths
