Woolworths service ethic: "Ho-hum...".

For many of us, Woolworths is not the closest store to home, but regrettably, in typical Cape-style, Woolworths appears to be making no effort at all to accommodate the lockdown-imposed delivery requirements of its customers and instead is not accepting orders for delivery of food. Any attempt to order food on their website is simply ignored. A catch-all banner states: “We have closed online orders for certain areas for the day, due to full delivery slots. Please try again tomorrow”. Problem is, that banner has been there for days, as has the rejection of attempted orders. Those “certain areas” are disingenuously not defined, so could include the entire country or one outlying dorp in the Cederberg. Why, one wonders, doesn’t Woolworths try something daring and proactive, like making arrangements for deliveries by third parties, for instance? Is that asking too much of them? One realises that Woolworths regards customers as an unfortunate nuisance that in normal times must be tolerated, but now that the country is virtually on a war-footing they could at least try a little harder seeing they don’t have to accommodate them in their stores. So try making an effort, Woolworths!!!
