Woolworths sending me around Cape Town for a shoe that they did not have.

On Saturday morning I wanted to buy a David Jones shoe in the Waterfront Woolworths. They did not have the size I wanted there, so they called other branches to check whether they have it in stock. Waterfront Woolworths sent me to Cavendish, where I drove to collect the shoe. Upon my arrival, they had not yet collected it from the store room. It took them 30 minutes to collect the shoe, where eventually it turned out to be the wrong shoe.

The lady at the Cavendish Woolworths apologised and promised to return to the store room to collect the correct shoe. I had run out of time that afternoon, so left my name and number in order for the lady to call me the next morning once she had collected my shoe.

The lady ended up not calling me, and I had to phone her at 11am to find out where this shoe was. She took half an hour to call me back, and let me know that they did not have it in stock. She consequently told me that they had it in the Canal Walk Woolworths, where I would be able to fetch it on the Monday. On Monday, I drove all the way to the Woolworths in Canal Walk, only to find out that they also reserved the wrong shoe for me, and did not have that particular shoe in stock.

I eventually gave up on this venture and am left bitterly dissapointed by the service of Woolworths staff. I have always regarded Woolworths as a store of high customer service. I did not appreciate being sent around Cape Town looking for a shoe that they eventually did not have. This leaves me questioning their inventory system and the level of knowledge of their staff.
