Woolworths sells non fresh flowers

Be aware of buying flowers from woolworths. I was given a R160 bunch on my birthday by my spouse and the roses and sunflowers (main feature flowers) did not open and only lasted a couple of days. However the rest of the bouquet made up of cheap fillers last for over a week. I have since spoken to friends about it and they complain of the same problem when they have bought flowers from Woolworths. No doubt old stock flowers are being used to make up these bouquets and as most South Africans feel too intimidated to complain, woolworths probably abuses this situation. Worse is that I have complained on Woolworths facebook page and I was told (quite sarcastically), \a million apologies"and that someone would contact me. No one has and they now seem to be stalling the situation probably hoping like most South Africans I will just give up and leave the issue alone. I will not. I am used to first world service when one pays first world prices. This would never happen abroad and would never have happened here a few years ago. Why are the standards of quality and service in SA plummeting whist the prices are sky rocketing?"""
