Woolworths Rosebank repulsive attitude.

Today 13/02/25 I was entering Woolworths Rosebank and as I got about 2 metres in the store the security guard (Sipho Luthuli) from Takalani security company, rudely stopped me and asked me what I wanted in the store and that I must immediately leave because I don't spend any money there.

I was very surprised at this as every item of clothing I was wearing was bought in that particular store and I'm a regular customer there. This upset me very much and I asked for his name, he put his hand over his name tag to hide his name.

I had to insist on getting his name before he removed his hand. I immediately looked for the store manager to report the incident and was led to another manager where I reported the issue.

I'm extremely surprised at the treatment I received from the security guard, it's as though I'm a ********/ shoplifter or such. I'm a 53 year old man who's never had any issues with the law so I really don't understand this.

I'm hoping someone can explain what Woolworths South Africa's policy is towards people who enter their store.

Is it compulsory to shop or what's going on?
