Woolworths refuses to process my payment

I currently have 2 Woolworths personal loans each with outstanding balances about R20000.00. On Sunday 19th May 2019 i did an EFT to Woolworths for the amount of R26870.00 with the intention of paying off the one loan and the balance tpo reduce the other.

I phoned the Woolworths Call Centre on Monday at about 8am to check if the transfer had been received. Asanda told me that the funds had not yet arrived even though it was from Absa to Absa and that i would not in any case be able to have the funds allocated until my debit order went through at the beginning of June 2019 almost 2 weeks later. I told her that i was entitled to pay my account at any time and asked for a Manager to call me.

Needless to say no Manager bothered to call me. I called later that day, spoke to another consultant and the transfer had not been received. It was also reiterated that i would not be able to get the funds allocated until the beginning of June. I was getting very annoyed and told her that what they were doing was *******. I was entitled to pay my account at any time. She got hold of a Manager who told me that the policy had been explained incorrectly and then went on to repeat exactly what both consultants had already told me.

He promised that he would ensure that the funds were allocated and that it would be done as i wanted-one account paid and the balance to the other. I told him that he could pay a little less into the loan being closed to allow for the debit order amount. He told me that the funds should reflect around midnight that day and he would ensure that it was allocated. I asked him for a reference number but he refused saying all calls were recorded. I found out later why he was reluctant to give me the reference number-All his promises were lies.

When i called back three days later (Thursday 23rd May 2019) i spoke to Tanya who told me that the matter was being " investigated and escalated" and the payment had not been allocated. I told her that this was *******-I had made a payment against my loan and it needed to be processed.

I told her to advise her managers that if the matter was not resolved by 8am Friday 24th May 2019 i would ventilate the issue on Hellopeter. I have not been contacted so either she did not tell them or (my money's on this) the Woolworths Managers simply did not care.

I have thought about the issue very carefully and realised that the reason why Woolworths refuses to process my payment is so that they can charge me interest on the outstanding amount on my loans even though i have payed R26870.00 of it. This is ******* and *********. I intend to refer the matter to the appropiate ombudsman and i also intend to contact a friend at the Sunday Times with the story.
