WOOLWORTHS NORTHGATE MALL- WORST STORE EVER

So last week on the 21st March 2019, I went to Woolworths in Calton Centre town, I was looking for dresses to wear at work. Could not find anything. I drove to Clearwater Mall, I found 2 dresses went to fit them, they were fine, as I was walking out of the fitting room I see another dress R499,00 I take it and I make my way to the tills. I did not fit it because there was a Q outside the fitting room and besides I had just fitted 2 other dresses. I pay R1299 for the dresses and left, did more errands then went home. On friday, 22nd March 2019, I took the dresses and realized that the one I took by the fitting room was a size 16 instead of 18, I take the dress back to Woolworths Northgate, to exchange. I get there, 2 cashiers are working and the third one joins them a little while later, stand in a Q for 10 -15 minutes waiting to be assisted, my turn comes, I remembered I had left my wallet in the car since I had paid with my FNB card, I indicate to the cashier and she tells to go and fetch my card. As I leave to get my wallet, she says take my packet! I take my packet and proceed to the parking, while thinking to myself DID SHE JUST SNAPPED AT ME? I then brush of that thought as I know we are all dealing with our own issues so I mustnt be sensitive. I come back there are only 2 cashiers now instead of 3. I stand in a Q gain for almost 20 minutes waiting for my turn again. I get assisted by the same person, who snapped at me, her body language is ssssssoooo off, I ignore that. She takes my card and then she says this dress is dirty! The dress on the shoulder had a makeup stain, that I had not seen before. Mind you I did not wear the dress at all since I wear size 18 and not 16, when I took the dress from the rail I did not see it was not 18. Its an honest mistake. We will not take it, I ask her to say that again, she says WENA WOULD YOU BUY DIRTY CLOTHES? IF WE TAKE THINGS BACK WE PUT THEM ON THE FLOOR SO THIS ONE SINCE ITS DIRTY WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO WITH IT? I try to explain to her what had happened the say before, she was not interested, she yells for a so-called-supervisor who was sitting behind the counter on the other to say well what are going to do with this dirty dress since we dont take dirty things in this store. The so-called-supervisor responds and says nothing , she must take it back to where she bought it. I breath in and say you mean I should drive from Northgate to Clearwater? She stood up walked to wards the cashier that was supposed to have been assisting and said its either that or you keep the dress! I just took my stuff and left the shop, As I was driving out, I decided to go to Clearwater and the decision I took going there was I am not buying from Woolworths again. It is one of the shops that I had supported and I love so much but the attitude of the staff in Northgate made me hate buying Woolworths clothes and to make matters worse, I don't wear makeup at all. She did not observe that, and the supervisor did not even care to give me an option of what to do next. What if i had bought the dress in another province? I have never seen such lack of customer etiquette and compassion for ones work.

I got to Clear water, there was none of that the dress was taken back and my refund was paid immediately. There we no issues whats so ever, how I wish the staff from Northgate can be like the Clearwater team! Maybe the Northgate staff assumes that we all come from Cosmo City therefore they treat us differently. The warmness and the treatment was out of this world, in Clearwater andI will go back again.

It is not the person's fault who was standing at the fitting room door, at Clearwarer, that I took a dirty dress, she did not see me do that. Nor the cashier who rung the products for me, it was a busy day and there were long Qz in the shop. It was not my fault that the dress was dirty because I do not use makeup, but this is my message to Northgate staff and their Management: I WILL NOT BUY FROM NORTHGATE EVER AGAIN. IF YOU HATE WORKING WITH PEOPLE QUIT! THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE THAT HAVE PASSION FOR WHAT THEY DO AND CAN DO A BETTER JOB.
