Woolworths Gift voucher and poor service from Woolworths online.

I received a gift voucher for Woolworths and wanted to purchase a specific product, which I could which not find in store but was available on line and cost more than the voucher amount. I therefore added an additional amount to the voucher. When I tried to purchase the product on line, the site recognised that I had sufficient funds but the purchase would not go through. I initially thought there may be some temporary issue with the website so I tried again over the next couple of days with the same result.

On 3 February I called and spoke to a lady who said it sounded like an IT problem and that the IT department would call me later that day. I received no response.

I then emailed to explain the problem on 4 February. and still received no response. I then called again on 5 February and spoke to a man who told me that Woolworths systems are set up so that you can't use a Woolies gift card on line to pay for the full purchase and that because I had tried to do this my card would be blocked for 10 days! This made no sense at all. I was going to call again but on 7 February I received an email to advise that they had forwarded my query to the relevant department and apologizing for the delayed response. On 10 February I sent a further email asking when I could expect a response. On 13 February I received another email, again apologizing for the delay in responding to me and advising that they query had been sent to the online shopping department. I rep**** asking when I could expect the problem to be resolved. To date I have not received a response.

I am very disappointed in the service received from Woolworths in resolving this query. If it is true that you can't use a gift card to make full payment for an online purchase, then firstly, this is ridiculous, and secondly, this should be clearly communicated on their website and when you buy a gift card.

I would not have added to the gift card if I had been aware of this.
