Woolworths Food : Mouldy cheese and then lack of communication

We went to Woolies Linksfield at The Neighbourhood Centre 14/01/2024 and purchased the two cheeses on the “buy 2 and save” The expiry date said 30/03/2024 but when we opened it and started to cut it, saw it was mouldy. This is unacceptable paying for premium Woolworths products and getting mouldy cheese which has obviously not been stored and transported correctly. Immediately on the same day emailed two customer service addresses with pictures showing the slip as well as date on the slip, the mouldy cheese packaged and clearly showing the expiry date. Sent pictures in various angles and the entire slip (which was R3965) and never received any response. Decided to try connecting via social media Facebook messenger and did get a response there at least, but only to say it is being investigated. It’s one week later and still waiting for reply. No apology, no refund, no communication. Even Checkers sixty refund immediately and don’t need to investigate” and communicate a lot better if you even complain about a loaf of bread that was delivered with same day expiry date, they credit you immediately without needing investigations. After all, these investigations should happen internally and not while client has to wait. What more proof is required????

Not only this, we often buy products that have specials being advertised and sign boards and stickers that show savings, only to not pay those discounted prices at the tills, as either special has ended or who knows what reason, but being falsely advertised in store because the signs and stickers are not removed timeously I believe is the main reason, and this happens often. And then where prices of items on the shelves are different to what is paid for and you only notice when you home and glance at the slip. I Never complain and usually just leave it since it’s always relatively low amounts, but if this is happening to so many people on a continuous basis, it’s pure *******. The fact that there has been no customer service or someone even concerned about the fact that they are selling mouldy cheese with an expiry date that is not even close, is truly appalling and concerning as what else is being sold as fresh produce and actually inferior standard. We shop at Woolies for the quality…. Hmmm now not so sure.
