Woolworths - Food Access Park PE seem to not care about quality or losing loyal customers!
Woolworths - Food Retail Park - Port Elizabeth I have shopped at Woolworths for many, many years and have chosen to do so not based on price but quality and have never had a problem with their quality UNTIL I moved to Port Elizabeth and started shopping at my local Woolworths on Buffelsfontein Road. In May we purchased 4 bunches of Roses for Mother's day - two bunches were rotten - the buds did not open but went brown, were soggy and then fell off (two different recipients same problem). The other two bunches were perfect. Thinking it was because being Mother's day there was a high demand so sometimes things go wrong, I went back two weeks later to buy my weekly flowers - I had the same problem. I called the customer care line which turned into a nightmare as although I am a cash customer they insisted on verifying my details. I gave them my details and when I gave my telephone number I was told I could not register it because it belonged to another customer! Nothing I could do changed the person's mind - I was not allowed to use my home number - the end. As for the My School Card I use - I was told that this card did not exist!!! When I finally got to explain my problem the person was not very interested and after hearing what I had to say said he would transfer me to the relevant department and then cut me off. I called back and was told not to worry they would pass the complaint on. The only thing I heard back was when I was emailed a survey form based on my experience. Whilst shopping one day in June I happened across a person who seemed to be a manager and told him of my experience - it was brushed aside with a shrug. In June I purchased Kingklip from this store - it was off. Based on my previous experience instead of calling the help line I just decided not to buy anymore fish from this store. Thinking something somewhere in the system the flower issue must have been resolved by some miracle I once again purchased Roses from this store. Two of the Roses in the bunch had the same problem as before. The final straw was Saturday when I purchased a bag of potatoes - on opening the bag I discovered that the potatoes were green - searching through the bag for usable potatoes I discovered not one but two rotten potatoes. Today I called Cape Town and they put me through to the Port Elizabeth Regional Office and I spoke to the lady there - she told me I should take this up with the Manager of the Store - I patiently explained that I had spoken to a Manager and been brushed aside. She insisted that this was the correct route. I explained that it is not my Job to do the work of the Region and that I had used every line of inquiry open to me so my only option now was to no longer shop at Woolworths - she told me that was a pity but still did not offer any form remedy for the problem or take down my details so that I could be contacted by the right person. I then told her that I would be going to Hello Peter and Social Media as nobody at Woolworths seemed to care that this store has a very serious problem - at this time the phone went dead. Clearly Woolworths at Food Access Park are making so much money that one less customer does not matter to them. Well today they lost a very good customer and I am sure that I am not the only one!!
