Woolworths Financial Services - Bad Customer Service
I'm not very impressed with the customer service at your Canal Walk's Financial Services Kiosk.
I was notified via sms to say that my new Credit Card was ready for collection and that I may collect it at one of the stores listed. I was asked to bring along a utility / retail bill not older that 3 months and my barcoded ID. Which I did... I took along the the only posted bill I have, which was my ABSA statement. When I approached Candice (the person on duty last night - 6 June 2018). She looked at my statement and refused to use it as proof of residence. She said I was meant to have been told that I can't bring ABSA paperwork, as they are the partner to Woolworths Credit Cards. I explained that I was not informed at any stage of this. Hence brought along the one document which I though was the most accurate. She said sorry she can't help me. I then found and showed her another email statement I have from the company I have my investments with. She said that will be fine, but I need to go print it out and bring it back to her. I asked if she couldn't please print it out for me, as it was Woolworths' fault for not informing me that I may not bring and ABSA document. She proceeded to refuse and say she can't do that. I then had to go down to Postnet and pay for a printout and then back to Woolworths to issue he with the document. This was an inconvenience and waste of my time. She then also kept the document for her record. I don't know why I had to pay for your admin issues!
I feel the way that this was handled was not professional and seen that it was Woolworths' fault a plan could have been made. Why should I have to go and pay for a document print out, when I had a perfectly good proof of residence with me form the beginning. It was not my fault that I was not informed correctly. I feel this should have been handled better from your side.
Also found the way in which they issued me with the card thereafter was not done very professionally. They asked for my ID document 3 times, because they forgot to copy it, and then again to check something? That to me doesn't seem right at all. They should definitely get their ducks in a row.
Forgot to mention that I was first at the Tygervalley branch's kiosk on Monday (around lunchtime), to find out the status of my application. The lady on duty there was also not very helpful. She needs to be trained in how to deal with customers, as she had a very disinterested approach to the whole thing.
I'm normally a very patient and polite person, but also work in the service industry and know when something has been handled well or not. As a loyal Woolworth's customer for many years, who always pays her bills on the Store Card on time, am very disappointed in my whole experience with this.
Regards, Candice Robertson
