Woolworths Document Resubmission

I app**** for a store card at woolworths and was requested to submit copies if documents needed. I submitted the doccies and everything went fine as I was handed over the card and activated it. To my surprise i have been called and smsed with requests to resubmit the documentation. When I called in to their customer centre, the service consultant blutantly told me I have to do what the sms states. That comes with no explanation as to why I have to do that. A little explanation to show that they care or need me to understand why woill be appreciated but nothing really. He just said "I will advise you to just resubm them as they can close the acc".But the main question is why?
