Woolworths disregarding Credit Act

I am 58 years old married in community of property. My wife has no job and the only income she has is interest paid from a fixed deposit account amounting to R 3600 pm. How is it possible that with the new credit act and the fact that she is married in community of property, woolworths issues her with a gold credit card and gives her credit of R 17000.00 all without my knowledge. I have after a year discovered that and now we are in debt, having to pay exorbitant interest rates, card fees, etc when she has no means to pay. I now have to settle this debt opened without my knowledge for which I am liable. this is a Flagrant disregard for the credit act morally incorrect. Shame on you woolworths. In an economy where consumers are urged not to go into debt, woolworths exploits the desperate and disregards the law.
