Woolworths Credit Card with ABSA

Good day,

Today I collected my credit card at Musgrave Woolies but it is still not active because the ABSA veriphone speed points were offline, the manager advised they will not be fixed until next week Tuesday because ABSA technical support does not work on weekends, and that I have to go to the bank now to get the card activated. After I received my email that my card is ready for collection I went to Pavilion Woolies to collect but they could not help me, they advised the card should be collected at Musgrave centre, but the email DID NOT specify that I had to go to a specific store, it only said go to a Woolworths store. So the following morning which was today, I had to spend another time and drive to Musgrave, only to be given a card I cannot use for the next 4 days because ABSA has no technical support on weekends and public holidays. Can you imagine? Such a big bank! If you ever think of applying for this credit card I would advise against this, the process is long and tedious. I submitted my application and all documentation a week ago but I still do not have a card that works! Go straight to your own bank to apply for a credit card, it will not take more than a day, and you have a card that you can use same time!
