Woolworths choose which beliefs to accommodate

I bought a dessert from woolies, a Belgium chocolate glass pudding. I read the top of the dessert and saw it was layers of mousse and chocolate, I was eager to try. I have a Christian and do not drink alcohol. I didn’t see the tiny disguised label saying it is made with alcohol on it, to be honest I would never expect it from a family store that actually keeps the alcohol beverages separate from the rest of the store. I ate it, it had a funny taste I thought it was coffee to make the chocolate richer. After that I felt my head spinning, and I had a headache and felt like vomiting. My child looked at the packaging and told me mum it has alcohol. I felt so violated. I could not understand how a store that keeps the alcohol separate and the halal meats separate to the rest of the meat could place alcohol desserts blended in with the rest. It’s my religious belief to not consume, but my beliefs were not as important as other religions it seemed. I looked at the liquor act and it specified that an age restriction should be put on all products containing alcohol. I called the call centre and spoke to two agents, Pearl and Gershwin, both were dismissive of my beliefs and they didn’t even want to give me details for the council that they respond too. It’s been a long time since I last called their customer care and the service levels have definitely decreased or are obsolete. Your warning labels should appear on every side of a package and be kept separate. Your company should consider all religions and not just Halal eating consumers. I am offended and insulted by your actions and customer service. I will be taking it to the council.
