Woolworths Cafe Tygervalley - POOR SERVICE!

We visited the Woolworths Café at Tygervalley on Mother’s Day for what was supposed to be a special breakfast celebration, but unfortunately the experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

We arrived shortly before 09:00 and were warmly greeted and seated, which initially gave us a good impression. However, things quickly went downhill after that. We ordered coffee and ended up waiting almost 45 minutes just to receive it. One of the coffees even had to be sent back because it was mostly milk and barely tasted like coffee.

When we eventually placed our food order, we were seated close to the open kitchen and the environment became extremely unpleasant. The kitchen staff were shouting at one another constantly, creating a chaotic atmosphere. It became so busy and disorganised that even our waitress disappeared to help in the kitchen.

After waiting almost another hour, our breakfasts finally arrived — completely cold. At that point, the experience had already ruined what should have been a relaxing and memorable Mother’s Day breakfast.

We then decided to order more coffee and cheesecake, only for the waitress to completely forget about the cake order. When it finally arrived, the cheesecake was clearly not fresh.

To make matters worse, our bill came to almost R1100.00, which honestly felt like a complete waste of money considering the level of service and quality we received.

What makes this even more disappointing is that we are loyal, regular customers of Woolworths Café and specifically return to the Tygervalley branch often because we usually enjoy the experience. Sadly, this level of poor service, lack of organisation, excessive waiting times, cold food, and poor quality has made us seriously reconsider returning.

Very disappointed overall.
