Woolworths at Crossings (Nelspruit/ Mbombela)
We did our weekly shopping at Woolworths (Crossings) in Mbombela/ Nelspruit when my pregnant wife frantically started looking for her phone. It turned out her phone was ****** out of her handbag in Woolworths. As soon as the phone went missing, we tried phoning it. However at this point the phone was already switched off. We contacted the staff and store supervisor to report the incident. They took our details and said they would check the cameras (it seems the cameras are only recording with no security room).
In hind site my wife remembered a lady pushing her out of the way while browsing the shelves. She dismissed the incident as a lady being rude. Later that night a large sum of money was ****** out of my wife’s bank account. It turned out a sim swap was not enough to stop the ******* from accessing her accounts (the apps were all password protected).
We are not seeking compensation from Woolworths. However I want to know what is Woolworths doing to ensure a safe environment for their shoppers, since it is obvious they have ********* prowling their stores? During lockdown I also had a beggar harassing me at the fridge space.
The incidents are very disappointing and upsetting. If there are any other shoppers with a similar experience, please come forward.
