Woolworths 6 months shoe guarantee policy

I bought kiddies shoes in February 2018 and the shoes got damaged. When I returned the shoes to Adderley Street, Cape Town Woolworths I was advised that shoes cannot be returned if they are damaged after 6 months of the receipt/slip date. This policy is not on the slip nor is it visible anywhere in the store or on their website. So much for "the difference" that means that I have to keep buying kiddies shoes every 6 months that are of inferior quality. The manager went on to ask "How long do I want a pair of shoes to last", that statement on its own made me realize that she knows that they are selling inferior goods that do not last are misleading the customers that they are selling quality products.
