Woolies can be life-threatening

On 19 February 2021 I went to the Adderley Store in Cape Town to purchase a pair of softflex sandals. As I was on the ground floor tills to pay, the lady behind me had dropped her mask off of her nose and was a at a very uncomfortable distance to me obviously not observing social distance. I then asked her politely to please observe social distance regulation and she literally attacked me verbally in full view of about 5 staff members (operating the tolls and a supervisor). None of them did anything about the lack of observing COvid Regulations and none of them did anything about the attack. Instead, they called the lady to the till to assist her still with her mask not covering her nose and let her go. I immediately called Customer Care when I got to my car and lodged my complaint of the attack and what had just happened at the store. 2 days later I recieved a call from Faizel, a manager at the store who told me that he would investigate and get back to me. A few days later he called to let me know that he had watched the footage and was sorry because he can't traced the customer so there was nothing he could do. Again a few days later I received a call from Musa (now speaking to me in vernacular, not really sure what that waseamt to achieve) telling me that they were training their staff. I then told her that I had a complaint with Woolworths and their internal business has nothing to do with me. She said Faizal would call back. In October 2021 (exactly 8 months after my initial complaint) my issue was still not resolved and so I went to the store to speak to Faizal. He said he would call me back. Two weeks later he still did not call so I called Customer Service yet again. I was assisted by a Ms Jefta (forgot the first name) who told me that my complaint was not even on the system. I relogged my complaint on the system and again Faizal callse to the store. I went to the store on 2 November 2021 and Faizal gave me a flower, chocolate and a R150 gift card and his reason was that he already said he would do it to Head Office so he can close my matter on his side. So basically his main interest is to close the matter and not even a care in the world about my satisfaction after being put in a potentially lofe-threatening situation by the negligence of WOOLWORTHS saff members. I explained to him that I need details ofthe legal department and he said he would call to give them to me. To date he still has not called. Of course I now had to call Woolworths yet again and get customer care. Spoke to a lady by the name of Gafsa whom I told I would like to engage the legal department. She told me to send her my attorneys letter of intent or demand and she will forward to the legal department.

My question to Woolworths: after being potentially exposed to a life-threatening Virus in your store, after being verbally attacked for doing what your staff members were supposed to do in the first place, your staff members not having done anything about, your store manager having **** to me several times and making promises that he simply doesn't bother to live up to bearing in mind that the Adderley Street store is in St George's mall and so potentially the most dangerous store for covid and all other infectious diseases purposes due to the frequency of tourists, MUST I HONESTLY INCUR LEGAL COSTS TO FORCE YOU TO DO WHAT YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO DO BY YOURSELVES AS A STORE?
