Wollworths fails miserably
I am not an unreasonable shopper but I do expect a little more from Woolworths. I travel 100kms to do my shopping and yesterday it was a waste of my time. Of course, we all expected some excess amount of shopping before lockdown and as manager of Woolworths, one would have expected more proactive stocking of the shelves. I called Darius from the Garden Route Mall store to share my dismay and disappointment after I saw empty shelves at 8h30. According to him, the trucks arrive at 11 am daily - that's no use to me who shops early. When I suggested being more prepared or at least put a sign in the window informing queuing customers that the shelves were empty, he became defensive and impatient. Ordering goods and merchandising is not my job - I come to shop and you are not able to supply me with even the most basics - useless. Walk across the parking lot to Fruit and Veg City - feast your eyes on the packed shelves, freshly baked bread and rolls, fruit and dairy in abundance. Somehow the manager of that store is able to do his job effectively. And Darius's facetious greeting at the end of the call was completely unprofessional.
