Why not Honor My Retrenchment Insurance?
The case at the CCMA dragged on for months. My employers never attended the Conciliation nor the Arbitration hearings. Finally in December I was awarded an Unfair Dismissal Award, and my employer was ordered to reemploy me in January 2022..
On the day of my return to work, the Campus Director refused to allow me to return to work. I immediately went back to the CCMA to report what had occurred. I met the owner of the company. He and I then sat in front of a Mediator, and we agreed on Retrenchment, and a financial settlement, which was to be paid back in monthly installments to me.
Please not that I had not received a full salary since March 2020. I had not been able to access my Unemployment either. After 12 visits to Labour I finally submitted my Documents from the CCMA to apply for Condonation, S my application falls out of the prescribed period.
This has all been explained to Blake and Edwards, and all the Docs from the CCMA have been sent to them.
I am now expected to pay the full installment which is over R700.I have repeatedly requested to look into my Retrenchment Insurance, and to please write off the debt.
There seems to be confusion from their side, as U called in late February stating that I am still unemployed, and can't afford the installment, but am willing to pay a less amount. I received a email from Hendrani saying that an agreement had been made, now I am getting different messages via SMS, saying no arrangement has been made.
Please Woolworths Write off thus debt and honor my Retrenchment Insurance. This is not the Woolworths I know. I have always felt a deep loyalty towards Woolworths for its caring and open handed attitude to its loyal customers.
I do appreciate the professional and courteous attitude of staff at Blake abd Edwards overall. I just want this to be sorted out.
This pandemic has been hard on us all.
Been a Person with Disabilities, has made it all the more challenging.
