WFS Debt Settlement

I incurred a large amount of debt over the past five years but was finally offered an opportunity settle this with the kind assistance of a friend. Standard Bank offered me a 40% settlement discount and I now owe them nothing. Good business sense. I can get nowhere with WFS beyond a call centre consultant. I would love to speak to someone with a little more authority than the consultant with a script in front of him/her. Wouldn't WFS rather offer a discount and get paid in full now, than incur further legal firm costs, possible litigation and further fees down the line. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.
