Watery mince

I bought a 500g pack of ostrich mince but when I opened it I discovered it was really wet. This isn't the first time it has happened, in fact the last two times I've bought it the same thing has happened, as well as a few times in the past. My family prefers ostrich mince to beef mince so I have kept buying it.

However, never again. When I realized how wet the mince was I decided I'd better squeeze the water out otherwise my burgers were going to be a squashy mess again. An unpleasant job and once I'd finished I had to get my husband to cook it. The amount of liquid I squeezed out was just over 100ml, so I paid for 500g and actually got 400g, plus the hassle of the squeezing.

I know retailers are allowed to add water to chicken, which I think is outrageous anyway, but they at least have to label it. The mince packaging has no such labeling.

Why am I paying for water? I should have complained before I supposed! Ostrich mince is not a cheap item.
