Very Unsatisfactory Service
If you are considering opening any card be it a credit card, store card etc - take caution. The service at Woolworths is shocking to say the least, in fact there is none. I lost my credit card and phoned customer services for assistance and a card replacement. The representative asked where I would like to have the card sent and I requested The Grove Mall as it is convenient for me - she repeated my request and advised they would send it there. I received an sms advising my card was ready for collection and my mistake I did not read the entire sms as I was under the impression and was advised it would be sent to the Grove. Rushed to The Grove after work only for the 2 ladies behind the counter to hand me a pile of envelopes to look through for my own card and when I couldn't find it they then went on to say the courier hadn't been there so they don't have it. I then read the sms to further investigate and it said Menlyn. I then phoned Menlyn the following day - at least on 4 different occasions with long periods of holding on only for a Nona to tell me she is the store manager. I explained to her and then she ended up phoning Woolworths Head Office. Woolworths Head Office then phoned me and to top it off they did not know Nona was phoning from a Woolworths branch. After explaining my frustration and getting even further annoyed I requested they allow me to send aomeone to collect the card because there was no way I was going to be able to get there. They then proceeded to say it would be ok if the store manager agreed to it. I then phoned Menlyn back and then asked the receptionist who the store manager was and she said Ranjesh, I then asked to speak to Nona and when I queried why she had told me she was the SM she advised she had said ahe is the floor manager. I then left 2 messages for the SM to phone me when he finally did 4 hours later. He further went to tell me it is against the law to allow someone else other than the card holder to collect the card and The Grove branch was not listed as one of the credit card stores. Funny how everyone else FAILED to mention that. Not only is this now a HUGE inconvenience but everyone at Woolworths has different stories and knowledge of what should and shouldn't happpen. Long story short he tried his best to accommodate me and let me know he had arranged for the SM of The Grove branch to collect my card at Menlyn and then I could collect it at The Grove after work. Surprise, surprise - I recieved a call just before I was about to leave work to go fetch my card to notify me that it in fact was not collected at The Menlyn branch and is not at The Grove branch as I was advised it would be. I am not sure how Woolworths is able to function with this level of service - it is unacceptable and really not worth the hassle. I will be closing the account and I suggest you prepare yourself for a frustrating ride. They definitely do make a difference - difference on your entire opinion and experience with Woolworths.
