Unwilling to refund a SASSA earning pensioner

I have been a happy Woolies card holder for over 50 years, most of us have been - wait until you have to deal with an *********** unwilling Customer Care department. I app**** for a new WW card, I updated all my personal details with HO, via e-mail. I was issued with a new card, which I received on 14 January 2023. I wanted to use the new card for a purchase at Faerie Glen branch, I chose to split the payment, between my SASSA card and WW card. I swiped my SASSA card for R900. When the WW card was swiped, it 'declined' because of the 'wrong ID number'. (I subsequently found out, that HO made an error with my updated details.) The transaction was voided, but the R900 from my SASSA card, remained in the system. But I walked out Faerie Glen without any groceries due to the declined WW card purchase. So I paid for goods which I never received. SASSA has a 'no reversal of payment policy' in place. A return paid with a SASSA card has to be done in cash. I went to the customer service desk, the finance manager(Portia, who has been amazing) was summoned and she went online with HO to get permission for a cash refund. H0 started stalling tactics, I went to an ATM and drew a statement. The R900 was no longer in my account. I went back to the branch and again went online with HO. The entire transaction was on the screen, showing very clearly what had transpired, but HO still gave us the run around, more 6 hours total in store time. The manager e-mailed HO, HO acknowledged the e-mail and rep****. The manager at F/Glen Atterbury Branch, where this all took place, has been in constant contact with HO, but to no avail. I am entitled to this refund, all the information is on the WW system, but all HO does, is stall. I suggested, that HO transfer the R900, from where it is kept in their system, to my Woolies card. Simple as that. This frustrating state of non-communication, and no conclusion, has now been ongoing for 5 weeks. For a pensioner surviving on SASSA each month R900 is almost 80% of my income but no support is shown by Woolworths, a brand which supposedly strives for excellence can't give two hoots - this is disgusting to say the least.
