Unreasonable Store Account Monthly Fee. Woolworths has recently implemented a monthly store account fee of R52pm. This charge is applicable even if you do not use your account and have a positive balance. I understand it's necessary to have moved to a monthly account fee, however the fee should be reasonable in accordance to the account type or usage. Capitec offers a full bank account with monthly fees under R10. I cant understand why Woolworths would charge so much for a basic store account. I rather get a capitec account, as it would be affordable when compared to Woolworths account fees. Majority of us have a bank account and a linked credit facility. I suggest cancel your Woolworths Store Account and Woolworths Credit card and rather use your Bank account credit options and pay 1 form off monthly account fee. It's unacceptable that Woolworths seems to just implement such a high fee for a basic store account and expect the consumer to just accept. I cancelled my Woolworths Credit card and I am in the process of cancelling my Store account.
