UNPLEASANT SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

I had a very unpleasant shopping experience at the Woolworths store in Greenstone shopping center on Sunday (04/07/2021). My mom and I were finalising our shopping and making our way towards the tills. Whilst we were talking the security guard made his way towards and asked us if we were aware that the store is about to close. In a very condescending manner. I quickly responded and said yes we are aware, thank you (Mind you,we were by the fridge section which is not far from the tills). He then proceeded to tell us that the tellers will not help us if we take our time. I then asked him what do you suggest we do? Should I just leave my stuff because you want to close 'your' shop? Must we leave your shop? We went back and forth until i finally told him his talking utter ******* and that he's rude. He then walked away I followed behind him to see if he'd do the same thing to the other family that was not far from us and he didn't say anything to them, because that family had a Male presence. Meaning he took advantage of me and my mom because we were two black females with no one to defend us. I felt disrespected and undermined.

I reported this whole ordeal to the manager on duty (unfortunately I did not get his name). Which was a waste of my tome and energy.The manager asked who the guy was, I described what he looked like and carried on making our payment. The manager did not do anything, he pretended to be looking for the guy. He had no sense of urgency. When my mom and I were done, we saw the manager just standing there, he didn't even apologize for the security guards behaviour nor did he take my details to do a follow up on the matter. Which was very dissappointing.
