Uninformative agents costing client money!
I called Woolworths financial services this morning regarding a loan that was taken out at the end of September 2015. I wanted to repay it before interest is charged on the 15th October 2015. I was informed that if I make a cash deposit at ABSA today it would reflect immediately and that I should call back once deposited and ask them to allocate the amount paid to that specific loan. It cost me R288 to withdraw this cash from Standard Bank (would have been free if I did EFT but would take 2 to 3 days to reflect) and I did as I was advised. I called back and spoke to Ms Phumeza and was given 1 explanation to another and given attitude when I started questioning the expenses I have incurred due to poor information given to me. I spent half my afternoon running from Standard bank to ABSA to sort this payment out just to have to pay withdrawal cost as well as interest which I tried to avoid. I would like this payment to be allocated to my account before the interest is calculated because I did what I was advised to do by a Woolworths agent to get this matter sorted before cut off.
