UNDERWEAR WARS
Woolworths has had a policy in place for many years whereby one cannot return underwear, which meant it was essential to try on and be comfortable with the fit before purchasing your item. Yesterday, I visited Woolworths, George Mall, with the express intention of buying new underwear. Why? I've got cancer and have been very ill. I've lost 20 kgs so my underwear is literally sliding off my hips. I'm also terribly weak as I'm unable to eat so it was no small task to get myself into the shop, chose some underwear and head for the fitting rooms only to be told "we have a new policy - no underwear may be tried on for health reasons". I asked to speak to the manager. I then got put through to the Head Office customer services and told the same thing. I was denied the opportunity to speak to a manager due to "protocols" but promised the matter would be escalated and I'd receive a call back during the day. No call back ensued. To Woolworths.... I NEED to try on the underwear to See that it: 1. fits 2. is comfortable 3. the fabric doesn't irritate my sensitive skin If I'm forced to buy without trying on the item, but can't return it then you've just become my latest charity! You're the last "charity" I'd ever want to support, especially against my will! It's your duty to turn away customers bringing back dirty/worn underwear, not stop customers being happy with their purchase. BTW, what's your policy on trying on costumes, bodysuits, jeans etc? They all come into contact with the crotch. I don't think you thought this policy through and, I for one, will boycott your stores until you reverse this ridiculous policy!
