Took my money but no gift card issued, no apologies

On Monday 19 December at 16:59, I bought a gift card from Woolworths in Upington (Kalahari Mall). I paid with my Capitec debit card but right after the payment went through, Woolworths had a power failure. The supervisor asked if the payment had gone through and I confirmed it and showed her the sms from Capitec. She said that I just needed to come and get the till slip once the power went on again; she would keep it for me. We returned about 5 times that day but they could not produce the slip, stating their system was still not on. On Tuesday and Wednesday I could not get to town. On Thursday I went to the mall to get the slip; they informed me that they didn't know anything about my transaction; they could not find it on the system. On Friday I unwrapped the gift card and took it to Woolworths. They checked it and there was no money on it. Then they sent me to my bank (Capitec) to draw a bankstatement. I told the bank my story - they checked the payment for me. The payment had gone through on Monday; and there was no refersal of the payment. I took the certified bankstatement to Woolworths. They then said they would phone headquarters, gift card department. I waited another hour - they could still not help me. Eventually they took the gift card and my bankstatement and my telephone number. They said they would phone me "when the payment showed in their account". So I have already paid the R320 since Monday, I have no slip or gift voucher to show for it; my bankstatement is not sufficient for them to see I have paid; and not once did I hear an apology from them for all the inconvenience I had to suffer - going there repeatedly, waiting for more than an hour at a time, and getting no help what so ever. As it is, I have purchased something else for the person whom this gift voucher was intented, as we will be giving out presents today and I cannot wait any longer for Woolworhts. I am very dissatisfied with the way Woolworhts handled this and I am still awaiting their phonecall and my gift card for which I have already paid on Monday... I am shocked at how little Woolworths care about customer satisfaction.
