The Woolworths Guarantee of Quality No longer exists
On the 15th of September I had the misfortune of visiting Woolworths Greenacres in Port Elizabeth to return a mobile device. When I got to the cellphone counter I was received by 2 equally unfriendly ladies who lacked the basic social s****s to be dealing directly with the customer. Firstly a woman who was standing there before I arrived was completely ignored while they chatted to each other. Then when I informed them that my mobile device was not working the lady with the short blonde hair very impolitely decided to ignore me too, and rather decided to direct instruction to the other lady who seemed to be her assistant. Telling her to inform me that I had to take the phone to the service provider. Which I did only to be referred back to Woolworths. When I came back a half an hour later the first customer was still standing and waiting for a phone. I was then told that the manufacturers warranty had expired and there was nothing they could do for me. When I pointed out that the date on the Woolworths slip stated that the last refund date was 28 September I was told by the lady with the short blonde hair that the guarantee date on the Woolworths slip was only for clothes. So even when you buy directly from Woolworths they take no responsibility as the seller of a product.
And since when does Woolworths guarantee clothes for a year?
If that's the case I might as well return all the Woolworth's clothing I purchased last year if this is their policy.
In fact I call out to all customers who have had the same service to do the same.
It saddens me that I will now be closing my account with Woolworths after 20 years of being a loyal patron. Due to bad customer service, untrained staff and a policy that does not make sense.
