The only difference is the bad attitude from Cust. Service

I have always applauded Woolies for its exceptional service and never been disappointed 'til 11/02/21. I went to Woolworths Irene around 12h20 to return sneakers (a size too big) that I bought on Sunday (7/02/21). There were only 2 female representatives working at Customer service and the so called Manager. The Customer service representative just looked at me first then looked at the shoes and told me she won't take the sneakers back, she didn't even check the receipt or even ask what the problem was, I was not in the mood to fight as I have never received such demeaning service from Woolworths, I didn't even look at the representative's name due to frustrations. The shoes were still in good condition as I could not wear big shoes. The representative called her Manager on shift and she also backed up her friend and said I should take them back where I bought them from (Mall of Africa) when I asked what I should do with big shoes that I can't wear and she also said that their "policy" doesn't allow them to take the shoes back especially that I want a refund instead (even with POP using my bank card). THEY judged and undermined me by looking at me first and deciding I was not worth the good customer service that Woolworths prides itself with. I returned the sneakers at Alberton City at 16:35 and I received the service I am used to, I was assisted by Simphiwe Khuzwayo. The sneakers were taken back without interrogations or mission to humiliate and got my Money back, no hassles.

If there is a policy that woolworths upholds throughout all outlets, how is it that the return of the same shoes were rejected and accepted same day by different outlets. If Irene staff in their minds claim to not see any reason to return the sneakers, then why did Alberton not find any issues? Are these policies dependent on area and/or person returning items?

I am honestly disappointed with the customer service received and wish I had taken a picture of the sneakers as evidence but I just wanted them out of my hands and didn't think of that, however Alberton accepting the sneakers back is evidence that there was nothing wrong except for Irene staff's attitude.
