Terrible service and ****** staff at Woolworths Cafe Table Bay Mall
I had a terrible experience at the Woolworths Cafe in Table Bay Mall twice last year mainly due to bad service or should I say non existent service. The second time I actually walked out because I could not take it. There is also preferential treatment from their staff depending on the color of your skin. If you are black , forget about getting good service or any service - from where I was sitting if you are white it is much better.
Because I love their food and it’s conveniently located near where I live, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt today. I spent 3 hours at the cafe and my waitress only came to me twice after I had waved at her and some of her colleagues for some time before someone finally gave me some attention. If the shop was busy I would have some empathy but it wasn’t and the 3 waitresses were chatting for a long time at the entrance not bothered about the customers. I saw a few customers getting up to request their bills and to order things and the shocking part is the waitresses do not apologise or see anything wrong with their poor service!!!
I am writing this because I am a big fan of Woolies and my family has been a local customer for years but the service in the cafes especially the Table Bay Mall one is damaging to your brand and reputation Woolworths. Please train your staff properly and address the preferential treatment on the basis of race. Every customer is equal and should be treated the same. While I was there today (17 August 2024) there was a male manager wearing a black jacket. You won’t believe how many times he walked around asking the tables with white peoples if they were fine. My table and one other table with a black couple was ignored each time. Woolworths please do something about this !!!!! Disappointed and frustrated customer !
