System discrepancy on return item

Warranty return disaster, bought a walkmate shoe at N1 city in July however it opened up infront. Took it back to woolworths in Somerset for an exchanges but i was told that I have returned the shoe for a refund already, which is not true.

The service I received was great however how is it that the system shows I returned an item but I didn't?

I am honestly disappointed
