Stale cake shock

I am so disappointed by Woolworths food at Canterbury crossing i bought a cake on the 02-05-2018 Caramel swill and the expiring date was on the 08 may 2018 but to my surprise the cake was stale it was not fresh at all. I am a regular buyer of this cake and it is my favourite but this particular store has made me very unhappy with the quality of their cake!
