Shocking Customer Service

<p>Being a customer of Woolworths for more than 30 years, never in all this time was I so taken aback by a Manager’s attitude and willingness to assist me today. Being a regular customer of Woolworths Trenery and Country Road, my complaint makes reference to a pair of shoes that I purchased a week and half ago, however due to preference I decided that I would return the shoe as it was very similar to a pair that I had purchased not so long ago from Country Road.Little did I realise that my visit to the Sandton Stand-alone Country Road store will prove to be such an unpleasant experience. My complaint refers to my country road shoe being placed in the incorrect country road box, noting all of the country road shoe boxes are black and the only difference is a little white label to set them apart. Upon handing over my receipt to the lady at the till and my shoe box, I was informed that my shoe box code does not match my receipt. So I reverted to inform that all of the country road boxes are black, shouldn’t the item of importance in any return be the receipt, she agreed then informed that she needs her managers approval. The manager was called from the rear of the store, upon his arrival and listening to the matter of the incorrect box, he stood there as if was unable to understand me, I tried to explain to him again that I have the receipt, it’s only the box, but all the boxes are black and look the same, he refused point blank, he claimed he’s the manager and that’s his decision is final, I was shocked at this managers attitude and rude approach. I then reverted to him that as a manager, customer service should be the number one priority, as a manager you need to be able to make decisions to move problems resolution in the most amicable way. I must admit that I saw nothing related to “customer service” from this respective manager, just ego and a directive approach. As a loyal customer it was a huge inconvenience and “shocking customer service” from Woolworths.</p>
