settling my account

I have a overdue credit card with woolworths which i took out of stupidity, young and knew less then. I want to now settle. I have asked for discounts from them and their attorneys and they are refusing to give a discounted amount. i have not heard a word from them nor the attorneys for more than 5 years. I made an effort and contacted the to settle and they refuse. What happened to credit amnesty and assisting people get out of DEBT. I don't know what to do now as i want to pay and close off my account and they are not allowing me to, with a reasonable amount that i can afford. I cant afford R16135.03 cash :( :( <br> <br> You offer people loans that they cannot afford and yet you don't want to help them to settle the debt. Im disgusted and angry with woolworths.
