********** service at Woolworths SanRidge Shopping Centre

Good day I was in your store at Sanridge Shopping Centre today and was treated in a manner that's not in line with the woolworths Quality, in the hands of Ms. Helen Maile. I went to the confectionery counter to purchase doughnuts. I found Helen chatting and laughing with a female security officer who works in the store. She saw me waiting but continued with her chat, which took a while. When the chatting finally ended, she came towards me and walked past me without acknowledging me, to remove pies from the baking tray and packed them in the food warmer. She walked past me for the second time to do the same thing without acknowledging me. I watched her as she was packing the pies in the food warmer in disbelief. I was the only customer waiting to be served, by the way. In my state of shock, I walked away and went to the paypoint and asked to speak to the manager. The manager, Ms Chai, came and greeted me warmly and I told her what happened and humbly asked her to go get the doughnuts for me, as I was not prepared to beg for service that I am paying for, from an unprofessional older woman who simply chose not offer me any service. I also asked her that I would like to know why she chose to not serve me. Ms Chai went to that counter and came back with my doughnuts and Ms Helen Maile in tow. When Ms Chai asked her why she did not serve me she simply said she did not see me. What a joke? I emphasized that she walked past me twice and she still maintained that she did not see me,LOL. Upon realizing that I'm not getting anywhere with this discussion, I gave in to the fact that I am invisible in her eyes. I therefore chose to play in this silly terrain of hers and asked her to tell me how we can avoid a similar incident happening in future as I shop at this woolies all the time. What came out of her mouth shocked me to the core and left me speechless. She said I should wave my hand in the air and say "will you please assist me". The manager looked as shocked as I was and apologized. My questions to you Woolworths as a brand..when did your service move from "how can we assist you?" to us having to wave our hands in the air like crazy people, screaming "will you please assist me" begging for service that we are paying for? Is this the new level of The Woolworths quality? Is this the caliber of staff that you have entrusted to serve us? I was utterly disgusted by the disrespect displayed by Ms Helen Maile, who showed no remorse for her disgusting behaviour, in her apology. This matter should be dealt with accordingly, as no woolworths customer should be treated the way I was treated by that woman. She should not be serving people.

Following my complaint, the store manager made contact with me and apologized. I was at the store today and was offered an apology token. My trust in the woolworths quality has been restored. Thanks Woolies
