Selling orchids that has terminal spikes

I am so disappointed in WOOLWORTHS here in Polokwane. I received a Phalaenopsis orchid as a girft from my work colleagues in December after I resigned. It has such sentimental value to me just to discover that it had a terminal spike. (This means that the crown of the orchid is destroyed and it won’t grow or flower again, unless it decides to make a keiki). I emailed Woolworths customer care but they didn’t even bother to respond. Yesterday I received another gifted Phalaenopsis from Woolworths Mall of the North again with a terminal spike.

You pay so much for an orchid and it isn’t a plant that should just last one season, especially if you are like me an orchid hobbyist.

I thought Woolworths had vigorous inspections and quality control that their products goes through. Isn’t this something that should be picked up.

Woolworths sells the most beautiful orchids, but unfortunately they don’t care about customers that maybe doesn’t know these more technical problems in the hobby.
