RIDICULED AND HUMILIATED BY A FLOOR MANAGER AT WOOLWORTHS

I arrived at the store WOOLWORTHS THE CROSSING, MAHIKENG, at exactly 16:06 on the 24/02/2017. Did my shopping, AFTER A LONG DAY AT WORK I took time to go and buy my daughters winter clothing and few sale items.

I spent exactly TWO hours in the store fitting, looking for sizes, and choosing what i needed only to be ILLTREATED and PROVOKED at the till just because I had forgotten my ID which I always produce when I make purchase at this store.

I humbly pleaded with the cashier that i use my drivers license instead. The supervisor (TSHOLOFELO LEBURU) insisted that they only accept ID document and nothing else. I asked if i could go and fetch the ID at home which is approximately 20km from the store, and it was nearly knock off time. TSHOLOFELO voided the transction and said I should step aside they want to assist other clients. Her tone and gestures were dehuminising in front of other clients she was constantly shaking her head and making nusty statements like "ke eng ekare o batla go bela yaana" meaning why am I reaching a boiling point. I didn't want to cause a scene and stoop to her level. She also said "next time you should never leave your ID" she was talking to me like a little child I told her I am not comfortable with the way she is addressing me, and that she was out of line, she kept on backchatting me. This statement indicates that she could have done something to assist me she was just being spiteful.

Then I requested to see the manager (EDWARD) he was of no assistance at all. He insisted that i should come back the followinng day even after indicating that I stay far and I always comply with the rules, and I am also a regular and usually spend thousands of rands in the shop.

I was shocked by the treatment I received after spending more than R3000.00 and waisting my time and only to come out of the store empty handed. My kids were hungry as they were just from school, and were looking forward to endulging in some nibbles at had bought.

I was inconvininced by the poor management at the store as I had been using a temporary card since 20/09/2016, and had been a cash payer prior to the card application. To date I am still waiting for the card.

1.Why is the security meausure discriminating? If at all an ID book is used as a form of security.

2. How certain are they that the permanent card holders are actually the legit users, since they are never asked to produce any form of identification.

Customer service in MAHIKENG generally is appailing however I held the store in high regard since they purport to be PROFFESSIONAL AND QUALITY COMPLIANT.
