Request for clarity

Bought ear rings which I could not wear for more than two minutes as my ears were sensitive to the material made from them. According to their policy you cannot return earrings. My concern is what happens when you are allegic to their earrings and you where not aware? Do u throw them and loose your money while they make profit out of you?
